Church in
Society
Mission:
The
Unit for Church in Society of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church in America witnesses to Jesus Christ who
frees us to do justice and give our lives in service in
God's world. Through our ministry we work for the common
good, confront obstacles to local and global community,
and promote care for creation and for all people
according to their needs. |

Mission:
In response to the Gospel, the
mission of the Upstate New York Synod is to “Make Christ
Known” through all of its expressions. We are called by
the Spirit: to provide vision, leadership, resources,
and support; to enable and empower the People of God to
embody the Good News at home, around the corner, and
beyond the horizon; and to call all people to repentance
and faith, by proclaiming the love, life, hope, and
forgiveness Jesus brings.

Mission:
Called by
Christ in baptism, we in the Metropolitan New York Synod
have been entrusted with abundant and unique gifts to be
God's reconciling presence in a broken world. We are
freed to walk with one another in diverse ministries
sharing these gifts by calling people to Christ through
our congregations, re-rooting in our neighborhoods, and
reaching into the world as signs of God's transforming
hope. |
